The doors of the Charlotte Jewish Preschool opened on August 2nd for its twenty-first year. For 21 years, CJP has welcomed the excitement and positive energy that August brings. After a six-week hiatus, CJP enjoyed the return of our full-day families from their adventures at camp and welcomed new families to our school. On September 1st, CJP will be complete with the return of our half-day families.
August is an exciting time of year for teachers and families with school-age children. The new school year makes staff, teachers and parents giddy with anticipation. Teachers are energized by their summer vacation and are ready to creat a warm and loving learning environment for their new students and families. Parents' heads race with thoughts of the upcoming year.
Who will my child get as a teacher?
Will my child be placed with his/her friend?
What if my child cries?
Will I make friends?
Will my child make friends?
Am I making the right choice for my child?
Now, take a second; sit back, close your eyes and breathe. As you relax, just internalize that our teachers will love and teach your children as their own. They will take your children on adventures in learning. At preschool, playing is learning and learning is playing. As they play, they will create new friendships and strengthen old. And yes, as your child plays to grow, you will make lifelong connections as you work alongside other parents to make CJP the place for families to learn, grow and connect. The education you and your child will receive, the friendships that will be built and the families you will create is your guarantee that choosing the Charlotte Jewish Preschool is the right place for your child. However, if you still need help catching your breath, come visit us in the CJP office and we will help you exhale. Alyson Kalik (704) 944-6866 will help you with all your registration needs. Tootie Broome (704) 944-6752, or I (704) 944-6777, will be here to help you exhale. We look forward to helping you learn, grow and connect.
September will be full of fun as the Jewish New Year and the school year start at the same time. The apples and honey will be dippy and sticky during our first week of school as we wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year. Following quickly, children will have picnics and classes in the Temple’s sukkah, as well as the opportunity to read and dance with the Torah.
For our new and returning families, welcome; for families looking for a preschool for their children to learn, grow and connect, please contact our office at (704)-944-6777 or
